Sultanate takes part in World Summit in Information Society

The Sultanate is participating in the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) held in Geneva from 19th to 23 March 2018 at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) headquarters. Dr. Salim Sultan Al Ruzaiqi, CEO of Information Technology Authority, and some officials from ITA, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Transport and Communication head the participating delegation.


The delegation participation agenda includes meetings with high-level officials from the ITU office and presenting some sessions’ on security related topics as well as taking part in some panel discussions during the summit.


WSIS2018

Winners’ of the WSIS annual prizes will be announced and awarded on 20th March. This year the Sultanate participated with the parent mobile app for the Ministry of Education. The app is designed to facilitate delivery of critical services for parents to make it easier for them to follow up their kids' achievement level, attendance in classrooms and their behavioral discipline, as well as to communicate with teachers and school Administrators in the schools.
